How can I bank with the Credit Union using my mobile device?

There are 3 ways to access your Credit Union accounts using your mobile device:

    1.     Text Banking – Quickly request and receive basic account information via text message without needing to have Web access on your phone.
    2.     Smartphone Application – Along with the ability to access account information and conduct transactions, the BCU iPhone™ and Android™ apps provide GPS-powered ATM/location information.
    3.     Mobile Web site (m.BCU.org) – The mobile Web site allows users of Web-enabled mobile devices to access accounts to check balances, view detailed account activity, make transfers, and more.

Is there a cost to use Text Banking?

No. The Credit Union does not charge a fee to use the service, but your mobile carrier/plan may charge for incoming/outgoing texts.

What should I do if I don’t receive my verification code to register my mobile device?

Verify that your carrier supports short code messaging and that this is not blocked on your device

What number do I send my Text Banking commands to?

The Credit Union’s unique short code is 20228. Send your Text Banking commands to this number in order to receive your account information. You may find it convenient to save 20228 into the contact list in your mobile phone.

What are the Text Banking commands?

  • BAL – Get your balance
  • HIST – Get your transaction history
  • TRAN – Transfer funds
  • NEXT – Go to next transaction from history
  • HOURS – Get branch hours
  • CONTACT – Get BCU’s toll free number
  • COM – Get command list
  • STOP – Deactivate Text Banking

    Is Text Banking secure?

    Yes. There are some specific features that make Text Banking secure, including:

  • You view account by nicknames and share types, not account number
  • No detailed personal information is sent
  • Text Banking won’t send unsolicited text messages
  • It’s covered by our Online Security Guarantee.

    Will Text Banking work on my phone?

    Can I transfer funds if my carrier is T-Mobile?

    We apologize for the inconvenience, but T-Mobile users are unable to transfer funds via Text Banking. This inability is specific to this carrier only.

    Are text commands case-sensitive?

    No, commands can be sent in lowercase (bal), all capital letters (BAL), or a combination of the two (Bal).

    What should I do if I get a new phone or phone number?

    If you have a new mobile phone number, simply login to Online Banking to deactivate your old phone number and register the new number.
