One of seven winners nationwide, BCU member Jennifer Kott scored the shopping spree of a lifetime after taking part in the 2017 Credit Union Magic Minute™ sweepstakes, a program developed by credit union service organization PSCU. Each of the winners receives an all-expense-paid trip for two to Chicago and the opportunity to pile as much top merchandise as they can from warehouse shelves in just 60 seconds, with participants typically taking home an average of $5,000 worth of items.

Jennifer partnered with husband Ron as she raced her cart through the aisles of the CURewards warehouse for an exhilarating 60 seconds. Prizes the family amassed in the dash included a MacBook, 55” HDTV, Bose sound system, laptop, iPad, Roomba and much, much more! Both agreed that their three daughters would be very excited to receive some extra special gifts this year and that the holiday season would be one to remember the family.

In addition to thousands of dollars in merchandise, Jennifer and Ron were flown up to the Windy City from their home in Mesa, Az., to get the full VIP treatment while visiting Chicago for the first time. Winners were treated to three days at the legendary Blackstone Hotel, along with meals, sightseeing and entertainment. “We can’t believe how lucky we are and how well we’ve been treated,” Jennifer remarked. “This has been a great introduction to Chicago and we’ll definitely be back!”

BCU Vice President of Marketing John Sahagian was inspired by the spirit of the event. “This fantastic opportunity for us to show how much BCU cares about our members in such a fun way,” Sahagian said. “This couldn’t have happened to a nicer family, and that’s exactly what we’re all about.”

In addition to sweepstakes winners, a credit union team is selected annually to race the aisles on behalf of a charity of its choice. This year Citadel Federal Credit Union from Exton, Pa., ran on behalf of United Way.
