Michael G. Valentine, President/CEO
Mike’s credit union career began in 1984, when he joined BCU as manager of lending & collections. In 1994, Mike was appointed President/CEO. His collaborative, team- based management style has guided BCU to over 200,000 members and $2.5 billion in assets. Topping the list of Mike’s strategic achievements are successfully transitioning BCU from a single corporate sponsor to select employer group (SEG-based) institution, and setting new standards for bringing together technology and personalized service. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1981 with Household Finance. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Thomas G. Moore, Executive Vice-President
Tom currently serves as Executive Vice-President with ultimate reporting responsibility for all member delivery channels, including service centers, call center and digital channel strategy, member experience, and engagement, marketing, branding, communications, relationship management and corporate services and our Puerto Rico strategy. Previously, he served as EVP/CFO of BCU with oversight for accounting, financial reporting, balance sheet management, audit and compliance, strategy development and retail financial service delivery. He joined BCU in 2009 as Senior Vice-President, Financial Products and Strategies. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and is a CFA® charterholder.
Lisa Baron, Senior Vice-President, HR & Talent Management
Lisa Baron began her career with BCU in 1994. She is responsible for the strategic direction of the Human Resource and the Talent Management functions. Lisa is responsible for driving high employee engagement, cultivating our unique culture and employee brand, staff development and increasing employee retention. Lisa co-chairs the Women & Leadership@BCU mentoring group, serves as a Senior Leader Mentor for Baxter’s Women Leaders resource group and is a member of BCU’s Charitable Giving Committee. Lisa has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Jim Block, Senior Vice-President/Chief Lending Officer
Jim Block serves as SVP/Chief Lending Officer for BCU. A leader in lending functions, Jim is responsible for strategy, risk and management of BCU’s loan and deposit product lines. He oversees consumer lending, commercial lending, real estate and ATM, Debit, and deposit areas. Jim’s success originates from ten years in the technology industry, along with prior experience in BCU’s Project Management office. In addition to his senior management role at BCU, Jim also serves on industry advisory boards and is Vice Chairman of the Credit Union National Association's Lending Council. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Dave Blum, Senior Vice-President/Corporate Relationships/U.S. Branches
Dave Blum serves as the SVP/Corporate Relationships/U.S. Branches. A leader in relationship management, Dave is responsible for all domestic branches and leverages company partner relationships to maximize member and eligible non-member value. His experience in fostering partnerships makes him a key influence in Corporate Relationship Management, Business Development, and Member Development. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree from North Park University, and a master’s degree from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
Jeff Johnson, Senior Vice-President, CIO
Jeff joined BCU in 1997 and is responsible for technology strategy and execution, leading many aspects of operations risk-management, including cybersecurity. Jeff is on numerous boards for credit union provider advisement and industry advocacy, with the goal of building a stronger BCU and credit union industry.
CJ Presto, Senior Vice-President, CFO
CJ Presto leads the Accounting, Treasury, Risk Management, Deposit Operations, Process Improvement and Strategic Planning functions at BCU. He also works directly with the Audit, Legal, and Compliance teams. Since joining BCU in 2001, CJ has held leadership roles in the Accounting and Finance areas, serving as Assistant Controller/Manager of Financial Reporting and Vice President of Finance. He has led multiple M&A efforts including the Guidant Branch acquisition, the Glens Falls Branch sale, and was a key player in the Brunswick Credit Union and Target Credit Union mergers. CJ holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a master’s in business administration from DePaul University.
Carey Price, Senior Vice-President/Digital Strategy and Delivery
Carey Price leads BCU’s service and digital delivery channels. As the SVP/Digital Strategy and Delivery, her goal is to deepen engagement and loyalty among our members. Carey creates the optimum member experience by bridging technology, people and the digital experience to the service channels. Carey holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from The Ohio State University and an MBA in Strategic Management from DePaul University.
