What it means to join the Credit Union

Being a member means being an owner.

Credit Unions like us are owned by our members—everyday people just like you, and we are not-for-profit. Unlike banks that need to make a profit for shareholders, we are in business for the benefit of our members, and the differences don’t stop there. At your Credit Union, we’ve got your back so you won’t hear things like:

  • Hello, Mrs. 0897624 – Our members have names. Accounts have numbers. We promise never to confuse the two.
  • Can’t do it. – “Can’t” is a four letter word to us.
We like to avoid using it and prefer to figure out how we can do something.
  • Me, me, me. – To us, it’s all about you, you, you – our members, our owners. You’re the ones we aim to please.

As a not-for-profit, after the Credit Union satisfies our goals for financial stability, the profits we generate are returned to members in the form of:

  • • Better rates
  • • Lower fees
  • • Higher value products

Your deposits are federally insured

Your deposits are federally insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which is like the FDIC, only with a cooler acronym. Because of this, you can feel reassured that your money is safe with us.
