Checking, Savings, and Certificate Account Assistance

To help support you during this challenging time, we can:

  • Increase the limit on your remote check deposits via Deposit Anywhere to $25,000* (the increase is automatic)
  • Reverse recent fees related to your checking, savings and/or certificate accounts including: ATM and Non-Sufficient Funds Item Fees (NSF), Courtesy Pay service charges, early or excessive withdrawal penalties, and cash advances on your credit card with no fee1
  • Offer domestic and international wire transfers with no processing fee1
  • Waive early withdrawal Certificate of Deposit penalty fee1
  • Credit your PowerPlus™ Checking account with the lost dividend from missing monthly qualifications2

The Credit Union has lending solutions to help. Emergency loan assistance we may be able to provide includes:

  • Payment relief on existing BCU loans and credit cards3; including Skip One Loan Payment or a Loan Extension for up to 90 days
  • Income Disruption Loans4 up to $2,500 with no payments and no interest for the first 90 days; with the option to extend the repayment period up to 24 months at a fixed rate of 5.99% APR with automatic payments
  • Thinking about applying for a new auto loan? Defer your first payment up to 90 days5.

Student Loan Assistance

University Accounting Service (UAS) is the loan servicer for your Credit Union account and provides 24/7 access to view your loan information and make payments at www.uasecho.com. (Payments by mail should be sent to University Accounting Service, PO Box 5865, Carol Stream, IL 60197-5865.)

CARES Act (Stimulus Funding)

On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed. This law will provide $2 trillion of economic aid to those impacted by COVID-19. As your Credit Union, we are always looking out for your well-being. We want to make sure you are fully aware of the financial relief that may be available to you during this difficult time.

Economic Impact Funding/Stimulus Checks
Eligible taxpayers who have filed a 2019 or 2018 tax return will automatically be sent a stimulus payment. If you have not filed your return for 2019, the IRS will use your 2018 tax return to calculate your payment.

The stimulus payment will be direct deposited into the same bank account reflected on the return you filed. If you did not provide your bank account information, a check will be mailed. To check the status of your stimulus payment and determine whether the IRS needs more information from you, visit their website. Note, BCU has no control of when you will receive your stimulus payment from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Please be on alert for fraudulent scams involving the CARES Act or a stimulus payment, and be careful not to provide personal information via text, email or phone.

Beware of Scams

In uncertain times it is typical to see an increase in fraud. Please be wary of unexpected emails or phone calls that may try to take advantage of you. Be on the lookout for scammers impersonating charities, government agencies and medical companies. The Credit Union will never call or email you and ask you to verify information we already have.
