  • What is BCU and how is it related to HCA Healthcare Credit Union?

    HCA Healthcare Credit Union is provided by BCU, a nationwide parent Credit Union. This relationship brings you an expansive array of products and services, as well as, nation-wide access. The names are interchangeable and refer to the same business entity. Two different names, but one collective financial cooperative behind the scenes working to help you achieve all your financial goals.

  • What makes HCA Healthcare Credit Union different than my bank?

    Unlike a bank, the HCA Healthcare Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization. As a member you are also an “owner,” not a customer, and you’ll typically enjoy better savings, loan rates and lower or no fees. Because we’re associated with HCA Healthcare, we know your needs and situations better than any other financial institution and provide customized solutions just for you and your family.

  • Who can join the Credit Union?

    As a colleague of HCA Healthcare or one of its affiliates, you and your immediate family are eligible to join, regardless of your financial standing or credit history. And once you’re a member, you’re a member for life. Immediate family is defined by: immediate or extended qualifying family of an existing member related by blood, marriage, fostering or adoption. Eligible family members include: spouses, parents, children, siblings, domestic partners, grandchildren, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

    1A. Average cash rewards calculated based on 579 home closings with a real estate agent in the HomeAdvantage® network of approved agents between 1/1/2020 and 12/31/2020.

    HomeAdvantage® program is made available to you through a relationship between BCU and HomeAdvantage®. Program Cash Rewards are awarded by HomeAdvantage® to buyers and sellers who select and use a real estate agent in the HomeAdvantage® network. Home buyers or sellers are not eligible for Cash Rewards if they use an agent outside this network. Using BCU for a mortgage is not a requirement to earn Cash Rewards. Cash Rewards amounts are dependent on the commissions paid to the agent. HomeAdvantage® may have specific rules on how your Cash Rewards will be paid out. Cash Rewards incentives are available in most states; however, are void where prohibited by law or by the lender. Please consult with your credit union to get details that may affect you. States and/or major metropolitan areas included in the HomeAdvantage program include: Major metropolitan areas located within 49 states, excluding SD.     2. Offer available only to HCA Healthcare colleagues and HCA Healthcare colleagues’ families. Upon approval and funding of the loan, you will receive a cash bonus of $350.00. A minimum loan amount of $10,000 is required to receive a cash bonus. Current BCU loans are not eligible. May not be combined with any other vehicle cash promotional offers. The total amount financed may include proceeds for loan protection coverage such as Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Mechanical Repair Coverage (MRC), Prepaid Maintenance, and Loan Payment Protection (LPP). The cash bonus will be awarded in the form of a deposit to your Credit Union savings account within 3 business days from the funding date of the loan. Offer expires March 31, 2022.

     

    2A. APR is Annual Percentage Rate. Published rates are accurate as of 9/1/2021, and subject to change. Offer subject to credit approval. Rate applies to 2021 and newer vehicles with a loan term of up to 75 months (based on credit worthiness), up to 100% LTV (loan to value). Call for rates on older model vehicles. Loan amount will be determined by income and other factors. The rate listed includes an additional 0.75% APR discount for buying through our Auto Buying Service. To receive this discount, an auto loan must be booked through BCU, and auto purchase must be made at a certified dealer through BCU’s Auto Buying Service purchasing process. The rate listed also assumes an automatic payment method and includes a 0.50% discount for having two of the following relationships: direct deposit of at least $500 per month or more into your credit union checking account; at least $25,000 on deposit with the credit union; or a loan in good standing. Qualifying loans include mortgage, home equity, auto, and credit card. A qualifying loan must have a current balance and credit cards must have a transaction within the past 30 days. Any Credit Union loan that is not in good standing or delinquent will disqualify you for Rewards Rates. Individual rates may vary based on credit score and other factors. An example of payment terms are as follows: an amount financed of $25,000 with an APR of 1.39% and a term of 75 months would have a monthly payment of $348.22.

     

    3. Offer available only to HCA Healthcare colleagues and HCA Healthcare colleagues’ families. Upon approval and funding of your student refinance loan you will receive a cash bonus of $300. May not be combined with any other student loan cash promotional offers. The cash bonus will be awarded in the form of a deposit to your Credit Union checking or savings account within 45 business days from the funding date of the loan. Additionally, a minimum loan amount of $10,000 is required to receive this cash bonus. Limited to one cash bonus per member. Student Loan refinance application must be received by 3/31/2022 and funded by 6/30/2022 to qualify.

     

    3A. Variable Rate is based on the Prime Rate as published in The Wall Street Journal “Market Data Center” Section (Index). Your rate will be calculated each quarter by adding a margin between -1.51% and +2.42% to the Prime Rate and is based on your credit profile. The rate will not increase more than once a quarter but there is no limit on the amount the rate could increase at one time. If the Interest Rate increases, your monthly payments may be higher. Although the rate will vary after you are approved, it will never exceed 18.00% (the maximum allowable for this loan). The rate listed includes a 0.25% discount for enrollment in automatic recurring payments.

     

    3B. Fixed Rate will be set when the loan is conditionally approved and will not increase above that rate before the loan is paid in full. The Interest Rate is based upon your (or your cosigner’s, if applicable) credit history and the repayment term you select. The rate listed includes a 0.25% discount for enrollment in automatic recurring payments.

     

    4. Offer available to new HCA Healthcare colleague and colleague family memberships opened between 10/1/2021 and 3/31/2022. Get up to $700 cash bonus when you fulfill the following offer requirements in accordance with the Bonus Eligibility Tables below. The bonus amount and payout dates will vary (see Bonus Eligibility Table below for details). The bonus will appear in your account statement as “HCA Healthcare Bonus Offer”. This offer cannot be combined with any other checking account offers. Limit one bonus per membership.


    4A. To earn monthly dividends and unlimited reimbursements of other banks’ ATM surcharge fees, your account must meet these two monthly requirements: Monthly direct deposits totaling at least $500 into your PowerPlus Checking account and completion of at least fifteen (15) transactions that include any combination of the following: BCU Debit Card PIN, Debit Card signature, credit card purchases, Online Bill Pay or ACH payments, which apply toward the monthly requirements in the month they post to your account. Credit card transactions that post on the last day of the month will be applied toward the following month’s transaction total. Accounts not meeting all monthly requirements will not earn dividends and will not receive reimbursements of other banks’ ATM surcharge fees. Rates accurate as of 8/1/2020. The dividend rate and annual percentage yield (APY) may change at any time. Balances up to $15,000 will earn the stated higher rate and the portion of the balance over $15,000 will earn the stated lower rate. See rate sheet or website for current rates. There is no minimum balance required to earn dividends. Dividends are paid monthly and calculated based on the average daily balance method. PowerPlus Checking is available as a personal account only and is limited to one account per member. If you do not have sufficient available funds in your checking account to clear a presented item, funds may automatically transfer from your savings or money market share and may count towards withdrawal limitations for that savings or money market share (Electronic funds transfers from savings and money market shares, which include overdraft transfers are limited to six per month. Each electronic funds transfer in excess of six per month is subject to a $3 excessive withdrawal fee. See Service Charges and Fees Schedule in Consumer Member Service Agreement for further details. PowerPlus™ Checking is a trademark of BCU.

    4B. Earn $400 when you open a PowerPlus Checking account AND have qualifying direct deposits of at least $500. A qualifying direct deposit is a monthly recurring direct deposit of regular monthly income, such as your salary, pension or Social Security benefit or other eligible regular monthly income, electronically deposited by an employer or other third-party payer into your checking account. A transfer completed by ATM, online or teller is not a qualifying direct deposit. A bonus will not be paid if minimum monthly direct deposit does not reoccur.

The rate listed assumes an automatic payment method, a loan term up to 36 months and includes a 0.50% discount for having two of the following relationships: direct deposit of at least $500 or more into a credit union checking account; at least $25,000 on deposit with the credit union; or a loan in good standing. Qualifying loans include: Mortgage, Home Equity, Auto, and Credit Cards. A qualifying loan must have a current balance and credit cards must have a transaction within the past 30 days. Any Credit Union loan that is not in good standing or delinquent will disqualify you for Rewards Rates. All rates are subject to credit certification and approval. The rate shown is the lowest available and your rate may be higher. An example of payment terms are as follows: an amount financed of $7,500 with an APR for 12.75% and a term of 60 months would have a monthly payment of $171.41.

     

    6. Offer only available on new HCA Healthcare colleagues and HCA Healthcare colleague family accounts only. Rebates are automatically earned by making eligible purchases with your Cash Rewards Visa credit card account. Each eligible purchase made by you, or someone you authorize, will earn a cash rebate of 5% on net purchases (purchases less credits, returns and adjustments) that post to your account within 90 days of the account open date, up to a limit of $10,000 in purchases. Once your net purchases exceed the $10,000 spending cap during the first 90 days, you will earn unlimited 1.5% cash rebates on remaining net purchases. Cash advances, balance transfers, and checks used to access your account will not earn rewards. Offer expires March 31, 2022.

    6A. After the 90-day introductory period, each eligible purchase made by you, or someone you authorize, will earn a cash rebate of 1.5% on net purchases (purchases less credits, returns and adjustments). Cash advances, balance transfers, and checks used to access your account will not earn rewards.

    6B. APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Rates subject to change. Rates accurate as of 9/1/2021. Offer available on new HCA Healthcare colleagues and HCA Healthcare colleagues family accounts only. Existing accounts are not eligible. If you qualify, all purchases and balance transfers posted to your account during the first 545 days after the account open date, up to your available credit limit, will receive a promotional 0% APR. At day 546, the APR for any remaining promotional balances will increase to the standard APR for purchases and balance transfers, and all subsequent purchases and balance transfers will receive the standard APR for purchases and balance transfers. Balance Transfers may not be used to pay off or pay down any amount you owe to the Credit Union. All existing payment terms apply. There is a transaction fee of 3% of the amount of each balance transfer during the first 18 months.

     

    7. Promotional rate accurate as of 8/1/2021 and subject to change. The minimum new money deposit required to open a Certificate Account and obtain the above Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is $500. New money is defined as money not on deposit with BCU at or within 90 days prior to account opening. APY assumes that dividends will remain in the account until maturity. A penalty may be imposed for early withdrawal. Withdrawals and penalties may reduce earnings. The APY is based on qualifying for the rewards rate. To qualify for a Rewards Rate Certificate Account, you must have two of the following relationships: direct deposit of at least $500 per month into a credit union checking account; at least $25,000 on deposit; or a qualifying loan in good standing. Qualifying loans include: Mortgage, Home Equity, Auto, and Credit Cards. A qualifying loan must have a current balance and credit cards must have a transaction within the past 30 days.
