BCU Marketing Named Double MAC Winners

June 21, 2013

Baxter Credit Union (BCU) was honored with two MAC awards at the annual Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) conference in Las Vegas, NV. This year’s conference received 338 award entries in 18 different categories.

Founded in 1986, the Marketing Association of Credit Unions recognizes the marketing accomplishments of credit unions nationwide. BCU received two MAC awards in the business development category for demonstrating outstanding marketing achievement for their “Payday Pow” and “Target Financial Goal Sweepstakes” campaigns. Both of the campaigns were designed to increase awareness and membership for Target Credit Union, one of BCU’s select employee groups (SEGs).

A strategically timed campaign, “Payday Pow”, was designed to promote Enhanced Direct Deposit, a free service that allows members to receive their payroll funds up to two days early. The campaign was successful at increasing Direct Deposit enrollment and new membership, with Target Credit Union gaining 140 new members eager to take advantage of the Enhanced Direct Deposit feature. The “Target Financial Goal Sweepstakes” was developed to encourage members to effectively plan for their future financial wellbeing. To participate in the campaign, members shared their financial goals and identified ways to achieve them. A prize of $1,000 was awarded to three lucky individuals, but all members left with a better understanding of how to best achieve their financial objectives.

“It’s great to be recognized amongst our peers in the industry for the creative approach we are taking to engaging and empowering our members through financial education,” says Natalie Klaus, Marketing and Creative Services Manager at BCU.

BCU is also being considered for several Golden Mirror Awards by the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) for their 2012 marketing efforts. Winners are expected to be announced July 1, 2013.
